What song best describes Meghan’s life? ‘Depends on the day you ask! Often, I have felt like my life is all too similar to the one described in “Once in a Lifetime” by The Talking Heads. So I try everyday to live a life more like “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield. Tomorrow isn’t a guarantee, so I make the most of today & make my future my own.’ – truth
What does working for Zirtual allow you that a traditional job does not?
Well the obvious answer is that it allows me to throw a load of laundry in mid-day, travel and take work with me (allowing me to save vacation days), and it allows me to be comfortable and quite literally at-home.
But more importantly, working for Zirtual has allowed me to meet some incredibly fascinating people -both clients and within our own community!
How has adjusting to teleworking been for you? What do you like & what would you change?
Teleworking has definitely been a transition. It requires a person to be organized, and motived, as well as someone who holds themselves accountable. I love working from home, er, anywhere (!), because life is short. I want to enjoy where I am and have the flexibility to do so. It also saves on dry cleaning bills!
One thing I might have changed at first is the isolation. I love my alone time, but not having someone to turn to with a question was tough. However, the Zirtual community is the best I have ever worked with. In all my years working in offices, I’ve never felt like I had so many people with me, around me and for me!
What are your most favorite kinds of tasks?
I really enjoyed helping a client find & purchase gift ideas for his son’s 2nd birthday. I was able to call on my sister (who has small children) for advice as well. I like pulling in my resources to help other people. I also LOVED the photograph I received of his son smiling while reading some books I had picked out & ordered. It made my whole week!
Why should someone sign up for a virtual assistant?
Someone should get a Virtual Assistant if they feel tired, overworked, overwhelmed, and like there just are not enough hours in the day (sound familiar?)
People should specifically sign up with Zirtual, because they can rest assured that the work we do will be great work, it will be done on time and it will be our best work. I don’t see the point in delegating work if you can’t relax and trust that it will be done as needed. With Zirtual, that isn’t the case. Zirtual trains us very well. And honestly, Zirtual treats us very well. We are a happy group. Positivity is contagious!
